The Elk Tree Project
One of the last examples of old growth cedar trees in the Tofino area, the Eik Tree remains as a result of the determination and efforts of the locals who have worked to keep the tree standing, and now are raising funds to fit the tree with a steel reinforcement.

Shopping
Tofino isn’t really a place that one thinks of as a shopping destination. However, there are a number of surf shops, places to eat out, souvenir and gift galleries in the area. Most are located along Main Street, so be sure to take a walk and support the local retailers.
